A friend sent me this abomination, any idea what is underneath?

3000gt, presumably

Usually these are built on Celicas.

3000GT or whatever the american variant of the GTO is

I need more to get an idea. A side profile would be best I think.
I'll be honest though, without the Ferrari badging (which doesn't make any sense...), that front end actually isn't too bad.
Doesn't seem like it'll match/be consistent with the side and rear though. And idk who thought it'd be a good idea to take F430-esque mirrors and point them 45 degrees in the air...
Man... I really have no idea what it is though... Those headlights familiar to anyone???

This was my guess, fro the angle of the side windows

Looks like it's based on a 3000GT. It doesn't look terrible, but certainly doesn't look like a Ferrari, but should have been based on an ugly car, not a 3000GT.

The curve of the door and window, and thick black molding underneath looks like a Cavalier/Sunfire. But the rest does not...

That was my initial thought as well, but I am not really seeing anything that points to a Celica.

True...

Yea I am loving the mirrors. Also the angle of the prancing horse is great. As far as the headlights, they actually do look somewhat like the ones on the 3000gt.

That's an aftermarket.

Oh that's terrible... it even has the same crooked prancing horse in the grille.

3000gt seems to be the general consensus, I honestly think those look decent, kind of a shame to see it end up like this.

What lies underneath?
HORSEPOWER. AMERICA. MANIFEST DESTINY. BONDO.

Probably a little bit of Japan as well if it was in fact the 3000GT.

Thats a 94-96 3000GT. I know its not a 90-93 because of no pop up headlamps, and I don't think its a 97-99 because the headlights don't have bumps. The housings have to be painted black, its throwing me off a little but I'm almost positive its a 2G 94-96
When its not... molested, they are great looking cars

Youch - I hope it wasn't a 3000GT :/

Difficult to tell from that angle, but I'm tempted to say Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO (or whatever that Dodge version was)

I think it's the same one with a different bumper/hood (even the mirrors are the same).

They're robo-modded '94 headlights. Definitely a 2G 3000GT (or Stealth)

Fiero? Isn't that what's always underneath?

That is quite possible, the in that link was located in Connecticut, and this one was seen in Massachusetts I believe. I cant imagine that there would be more than one person in the area who thought this would be a good idea...

Is it a red Pontiac Sunfire underneath? The front lights look like it. I feel like someone would totally do this to a Sunfire. You drive a Sunfire, life's probably not going too well for you.

Don't you see the badges? It's a Ferrari.

Got to be a fiero...they always are

It should obvious to anyone that it's a Ferrari LFA.
